This week, during her press tour for the aquatic thriller The ShallowsBlake Lively hopped into a DeLorean salon chair and took us back to the '80s with voluminous, loose corkscrew curls. As someone who is obsessed with '80s movies—both classic Sixteen Candles and obscure Just One of the Guys —I immediately thought that Lively resembled one of my childhood girl crushes: her half-sister Robyn Lively, of Teen Witch fame. Most impressive is that no hair extensions were harmed in the making of this hairdo, nor did she have to endure a perm.
Originally pitched as a female version of Teen Wolf and later reworked into a film of its own, the film features numerous impromptu rap musical numbers and has since become a cult classic  aided by midnight theater showings, regular airings on cable network channels, and on ABC Family 's 13 Nights of Halloween. The film is also popular for its music and s fashion nostalgia. After a bike accident, the sweet-yet-nerdy year-old Louise Miller knocks on the door of a strange-looking house, hoping to use the phone.
Part musical, part teen comedy and full camp, the camp classic "Teen Witch" probably isn't a movie that star Robyn Lively thought she'd still be talking about 30 years later. The movie starred Lively as Louise Miller, the titular teenage spellcaster who uses a little bit of magic to turn herself into the school's "most popular girl. While speaking with TooFab about her work in Hulu's horror anthology series "Into the Dark" -- more on that here -- we just had to ask about the '80s film and she was more than happy to oblige.

Under the guidance of her mentor, Madame Serena Zelda RubensteinLouise uses her newfound powers to become the most popular girl in school, and land B. Brad Powell Dan Gauthier.
But here are 18 things you might not know about the cult classic. While the final version of the film bears some obvious similarities to Teen Wolf —a teen balancing high school life with his or her supernatural abilities—it originally intended to borrow the title font, tagline, and general plot from the Michael J. Fox hit.
And as a college instructor, it has allowed me to incorporate talking about monsters, villains, heroes, and my love of witches into my classroom and course material. Just wish I could dress like the professors at Hogwarts when I teach. With that out in the open, let me tell you about this movie, and why I find myself thinking of it.
Teen Witch remains a favorite today, often airing on TV during Halloween season. Lively, our very favorite teen witch sorry Sabrina has a pretty extensive list of credits. Lively is also part of an amazing family of actors, including little sister Blake YES, that onewhich means her brother-in-law is Ryan Reynolds.
